My name is Sarah Traczyk. I teach the combined classrooms of 5th and 6th grade. I am so thrilled to return to my Hawaiian Mission Academy ohana this year! I came to Oahu in 2013 to teach at out sister school- HMA Windward Campus in Kailua. I started my educational journey at Southern Adventist University earning my B.A. in elementary education K-8. I continued to earn my M.Ed in ESOL from Concordia University in Portland, Oregon last year.
I started my elementary teaching career on the Pacific island of Saipan, where I taught first and second grade and helped with administrative work. After several years, God called me to teach English in Taipei, Taiwan. Once there, I was able to travel around southeast Asia and extend on my ESL experiences and learn quite a few Mandarin survival phrases! I fell in love with the Taiwanese culture, but knew God was calling me to start my Masters of Ed. program, so I accepted a call to HMA Windward Campus and taught 3rd and 4th grade for several years. After an army PCS to the mainland, we have returned to our island home! I enjoy all things outdoors, paddling, and learning new languages as I travel.
